Political Committees
Much of PROSA's policy work and many of our member services are developed through our Political Committees. Each committee focuses on a specific area, ranging from the working environment and legal advice to workplace organising.
All committees are open to every PROSA member.
If you'd like to play an active role in your trade union, you can learn more here about what each committee does and how to get involved.
IT and Society Committee (ITS
The IT and Society Committee (ITS) is PROSA's Political Committee for IT policy.
The committee develops PROSA's positions on IT and digital policy. It explores how IT and digitalisation shape society, with a particular focus on civil rights, the role of technology, and democratic values.
As the trade union for IT professionals, we contribute technical expertise and critical perspectives to public debate. We work to develop solutions that balance technical realities with wider social values. Our professional expertise often allows us to anticipate the long term consequences of new technologies and identify solutions that may not be obvious to those without an IT background.
What does ITS work on?
ITS represents PROSA's voice across all areas of IT policy, with the aim of protecting employees, citizens, and society from the risks and imbalances that can arise through digitalisation.
Our main priorities include:
Protecting privacy and data rights
We oppose systems that routinely monitor or scan people's communications or personal data without a clear and proportionate purpose. We advocate clear rules on consent, transparency, and proportionality in the collection and processing of personal data.Digital security and opposition to software backdoors
We work to ensure that people and organisations can trust the software they use, including strong encryption. We oppose requirements for hidden access mechanisms or backdoors that undermine security and privacy.Openness, interoperability, and technology independence
We promote open standards, open source software, and solutions that prevent public authorities and citizens from becoming dependent on individual suppliers or proprietary systems. This strengthens competition and reduces vulnerability.Algorithms, automated decision making, and fairness
When algorithms or artificial intelligence are used to support decision making, they must operate within clear principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness. Such systems should be understandable, open to scrutiny, and challengeable where necessary.Digital democracy and participation
We work to ensure that digitalisation strengthens rather than weakens democratic rights, freedom of expression, and public participation. This includes examining the role of social media, censorship, control mechanisms, and the digital public sphere.Public sector IT and shared digital solutions
We believe public sector IT projects should be developed with transparency, accountability, and meaningful user involvement. Digital systems should serve citizens and respect their rights, rather than being driven solely by technology or financial considerations. They should also be designed using modular architectures, making it possible to stop or change projects before costs escalate unnecessarily.
ITS discusses current policy proposals, contributes to public consultations, develops input for legislation and national strategies, and represents PROSA's views in debates on digital transformation, cyber security, regulation, and technology.
Meetings and participation
The committee normally meets six to eight times a year, and all PROSA members are welcome to participate.
Meetings typically attract between eight and twelve members.
As an ITS member, you'll also join the committee's mailing list, which has around 50 members. If there's an IT policy issue you believe PROSA should address, joining ITS is a great way to raise it with the committee.

Individual Member Services Committee (IMS)
IProviding individual member support is a core part of PROSA's work. Every day, our legal advisers are on the front line, helping members with issues such as employment contracts, dismissal, sickness, salary payments, restrictive covenants, holidays, #MeToo cases, and many other workplace matters.
The Individual Member Services Committee (IMS) sets the overall direction for how PROSA protects and represents members' individual employment and legal interests. The committee develops and maintains the quality of the services available to each member, ensuring that PROSA's legal support remains relevant, effective, and up to date.
Employment law continues to evolve through new legislation, court decisions, and changes in the IT labour market. This means PROSA must continually adapt to ensure our individual member services have the right tools, procedures, and expertise to meet new challenges. At the same time, every case must be considered on its own merits, with room for individual circumstances. This is where the IMS Committee plays a key role.
The committee is also responsible for overseeing PROSA's legal fund, ensuring that resources are used in accordance with the guidelines and reporting requirements approved by the Executive Board.
Meetings
The committee normally holds eight to ten scheduled meetings each year.
Additional meetings may be arranged when urgent cases need to be considered, although these are usually handled by email where possible.
The size of the committee varies over time. If you're interested in joining the committee or would like to learn more about its work, you're very welcome to get in touch.

Working Life Committee
Working Life Committee
The Working Life Committee is responsible for PROSA's policies on the labour market, the working environment, unemployment, and salary statistics. The committee works to create the best possible conditions for both current and future generations in the labour market.
Our vision
We want a labour market where everyone can thrive and fulfil their potential. One that is inclusive, fair, and provides opportunities for all.
Our goals
Our goal is to secure the best possible pay and working conditions across the IT profession. PROSA's labour market policy should support this while giving every individual the best possible opportunities throughout their working life.
We also work for a society where those facing the greatest challenges receive the support they need, and where unemployed people have new opportunities to return to meaningful work.
The best conditions for everyone
We work to secure the best possible pay and working conditions for everyone, whether covered by a collective agreement or employed on an individual contract.
Our labour market policy reflects a workforce in which individual employment contracts are becoming increasingly common. We believe there should be a balanced approach between statutory employment legislation and collective bargaining.
Healthy working lives
No one should have to risk their health simply by going to work. Work should contribute to both professional and personal development.
PROSA believes that the working environment should be adapted to people, not the other way around. Work should be varied, rewarding, and free from physical or psychological harm.
Members should have influence over their own working conditions. We work to minimise the health risks associated with IT work by promoting reasonable workloads and working hours. We also advocate organising work in ways that support wellbeing and prevent occupational injuries, including repetitive strain injuries and poor mental wellbeing.
Our strategic priorities
We pursue these goals through political engagement and strong partnerships by:
Taking an active role in working groups and networks within the Danish Trade Union Confederation (FH).
Meeting with politicians to influence public policy.
Raising awareness through Prosabladet and other communication channels.
Strengthening PROSA's policies through alliances and partnerships.
Using the PROSA Panel to gather member insights and develop practical solutions to real workplace challenges.
How the committee works
The committee meets every quarter, or more frequently when required, to ensure our work remains focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for PROSA members.

Editorial Committee
The Editorial Committee has political responsibility for the publication of Prosabladet, which is published six times a year and distributed to all PROSA members, either as a printed magazine or in a digital edition.
The committee consists of at least four members and manages the budget allocated by the Executive Board to cover the costs of producing, printing, and distributing the magazine.
The committee works closely with the Prosabladet editorial team. At its monthly meetings, members discuss potential articles and provide technical insight and professional input to support the editorial team. The committee also safeguards members' opportunity to engage in open debate about PROSA's work and the union's political direction.
Committee members are elected for a two year term by the Delegate Assembly. If you'd like to learn more about the committee, you're very welcome to get in touch.
