Project Management – Scrum, Agile & Waterfall
An intensive, practice-oriented session comparing traditional Waterfall with Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework. Participants will rotate through short presentations, guided exercises and a case study to solidify their understanding.
Agenda & Exercises
1. Waterfall Planning
- Define phases, deliverables and milestones
- Create a sample Gantt chart for a simple project
2. Agile Fundamentals
- Review the Agile Manifesto and iteration planning
- Draft user stories and estimate effort using Planning Poker
3. Scrum Simulation
- Assume the roles of Product Owner, Scrum Master and Developer
- Conduct a mini sprint: backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-up, review and retrospective
4. Case Study & Method Selection
- In small teams, choose Waterfall, Scrum or a hybrid model
- Prepare a one-page project approach and present your rationale
5. Wrap-Up
- Discuss common pitfalls and mitigation strategies
- Share templates: Work Breakdown Structure, sprint backlog and user-story cards
